We recently did the Emerald Cave Kayak Adventure with Blair as our guide. We had such an amazing time! Our 15 and 12 year old daughters were with us and they really loved it too. Blair was so friendly, knowledgeable and patient. He provided great information about the area and clear instructions. I really appreciated how engaged he was with our kids and how well he communicated the whole time. We highly recommend a tour with Blair!Posted on Google![]()

We were unprepared and didn’t have a ride back to Vegas strip and the guides went out of their way to take all 6 of us to our hotel. Without even booking with them they were able to help us out. Please remember that even though you’re in Las Vegas, our adventures take place in canyons, rivers, and potentially at higher elevations. Therefore, it’s essential to dress appropriately according to the weather. The best advice we can offer at Venture Out Vegas is for you, your family, and your friends to dress in layers. You can always remove layers if you become too hot, but if you find yourself cold without extra clothing, it could lead to an uncomfortable experience. This is particularly important since there is plenty of dry storage available in all the kayaks and daypacks for hikers.
Above all, our primary goal is for you to thoroughly enjoy these incredible trips, and this begins with your proactive planning. While the summer months in this region can be extremely hot, the water temperature at Black Canyon remains a refreshing 52-54 degrees, creating excellent ‘jumping in the water’ conditions. Remember to avoid wearing cotton clothing. The best approach is to check the weather forecast for the specific location of the tour you have chosen and dress accordingly.
✓ Water shoes or shoes you can walk (hike) in and don’t mind getting wet.
✓ Quick-drying shorts/pants.Non-cotton, wicking shirts/long sleeve rash guard.
✓ A windbreaker is recommended.
✓ Sunglasses.
✓ Hat or beanie (for the winter months).
✓ Lip balm.
Summer and winter months have significantly different conditions, so please plan accordingly. Guides typically carry extra clothing, but this is not guaranteed.
You won’t be the first to take this tour without knowing how to swim. In fact, we had a guest who was afraid of the water. Thanks to the patience and expertise of our guides, we were able to help him thoroughly enjoy the tour, and he has since become a frequent guest. It is also mandatory for guests participating in this epic tour to wear life jackets. We do ask you to inform Venture Out Vegas ahead of time if you can’t swim or are afraid of the water, so we can plan accordingly and ensure you have the time of your life!
We can’t guarantee that you won’t flip over, but we do take precautions to help minimize the risk of capsizing. We specialize in using Ocean Kayak brand sit-on-top kayaks in our rental fleet. These boats are designed for use on the ocean, so they can handle most water conditions on the river. They are very stable as long as you don’t overload them. We have over 10 O.K. models available for rentals, and we try to match you with the right boat.
If you opt for a touring kayak or canoe, please be aware that these boats handle differently. Your center of gravity may be higher, or the boat may be narrower, which can affect stability. Sit-on-top kayaks are also easier to self-rescue from, so we recommend contacting us for more information on the right boat for your needs. Use the link below to see what the Ocean Kayak looks like:
The most obvious: An Epic Time! Beyond that, it does include, Complimentary Shuttle Service to and from your hotels, water, snacks, kayaks, paddles, life vests, and an awesome guide to enhance your experience.
Venture Out Vegas supports the safety of what the National Park Rangers have implemented and every guest must abide by the rules set in place. There is a fine if you are busted without one and this will make Venture Out Vegas look bad – and we will not stand for that. So to alleviate the headaches of life vests not fitting, Venture Out Vegas has a wide selection of life vests from the top brands – O’Neill, Connelly, Maui & Son’s, Stearns, and even Disney for the little ones! In addition, after every single tour, the life vests are hand washed, sanitized, and inspected, leaving all our gear smelling fresh!
With only 45 permits issued on a daily basis, it is truly a remarkable trip if you are able to jump in on this tour!
If we are able to get you a permit, make sure that your first and last names are spelled correctly when booking and it matches your ID. Reminder: Don’t forget your ID! If you forget your ID, you won’t be able to partake in this activity.

Great question! We will send you a confirmation text/email no later than 6:30 pm (PST) on the night before your scheduled pickup. This message will include your exact pickup time and details on where to meet your driver.
Yes. Our outdoor tours are dependent on favorable weather conditions to ensure the safety of all guests and staff.
The operator monitors the most up-to-date weather forecasts, which can change within 12–16 hours prior to your scheduled activity.
Due to this, tours may be canceled as late as 6:00 PM PST the evening before your scheduled pick-up or meet-up time if inclement weather (such as high winds or heavy rain) poses a safety risk.
If a cancellation is necessary:
Guests will be notified via text message by 6:00 PM PST the night before the tour.
Important: Please ensure your mobile phone number is correct when booking, as this is the fastest way for us to inform you of any last-minute changes.
If the operator cancels due to weather, guests may choose to:
Reschedule for a later date at no additional cost.
Cancel and request a full refund.
Please Note:
If a guest chooses to cancel on their own based on personal weather concerns before 6:00 PM PST the day before the activity, the cancellation will be treated the same as any guest cancellation made within 48 hours of the tour start time.
A full refund will be issued for cancellations made 48 hours or more before the tour’s start time (shuttle pick-up or self-drive meet-up time). Cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance are non-refundable, unless due to an operator-issued cancellation.
Refund of a payment made via the payment link from a direct website booking should take 7-10 business days. If your confirmation email mentions up to 30 days, please note this is a system default and not the actual processing time. Most refunds are completed within the 7–10 business day window.
